Figures are the % of accounts holding long positions; the rest are short.
The long/short ratio shows the share of trader accounts holding long positions (betting on a price rise) versus short positions (betting on a fall) in a coin's futures contracts. For example, 60% long means 60 out of every 100 accounts with an open position are long. It counts accounts, not money, so a few large short positions can outweigh many small long accounts.
Averaged across Binance, OKX, Bybit and large Hyperliquid wallets, 53.8% of accounts are long BTC and 46.2% are short (Long-leaning). The table on this page updates every minute.
Not necessarily. A crowded long side often comes from many small traders. If the price dips, their stop-losses and liquidations can push it lower, so an extreme ratio is a warning of crowding, not a sell signal. Check it together with funding rate, open interest and liquidations.
Each exchange has its own users and its own calculation. Binance and OKX count accounts with long versus short positions, Bybit uses the share of buyers, and the Hyperliquid figure is based on the largest on-chain wallets. Crypffalo shows them side by side and an average.
Binance and Bybit are refreshed every minute. OKX is refreshed in rotation a few coins at a time, and Hyperliquid wallets every few minutes. The update time is shown above the table.
No. It shows crowd positioning, not direction. Use it as one input alongside price structure, funding rate and your own risk management. This content is for information only and is not financial advice.
